"You're dead too long to be goddamn miserable" - that's the motto of Kaz, a charismatic Cockney member of staff in the launderette on Blackstock Road, north London. True to her philosophy she chats away to her customers, offering one man advice on saving pennies and teasing another about his facial hair. This short documentary portrait of Kaz during one day at work reveals a lively spark within the mundane domesticity of a launderette setting, with a multi-layered soundtrack that weaves the functional whirring machines with daydreaming thoughts of the international mix of customers while they wait for their washing.
